Responsibilities
  • Welds, fits fabricate metal and plastic components to assemble structural forms.
  • Preheats and cleans metals/plastic; lays out, cuts, and fits materials for welding; selects proper welding heat and proper type and size of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of welded Materials.
  • Weld and fit fabricate metal and plastic components, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. Engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations.
  • Welds components and assemblies by using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
  • Cuts work pieces, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
  • Bending and welding on machinery and equipment on piping.
  • Repairs and installs the piping’s and maintains and makes minor repairs to welding equipment.
  • Able to perform and familiar with WNF, IR, TIG and MIG machine and skills.
  • Familiar with plastic manual welding for PVC, Piping and PVDF.
  • To run welding machine according to Work Instruction, safety instruction and production schedule.
  • Perform grinding at welding joints to achieve good surface finishing.
  • Required to use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using processes such as gas tungsten arc (TIG or GTAW), gas metal arc (MIG or GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), oxy-acetylene (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW).
  • Ensure all products manufactured meet the desired manufacturing standards specifications and ensure and enforce company safety standard requirement both on their subordinates and equipment.
  • Ensuring all adequate housekeeping practises is maintained.
  • To identify potential welding problems and work out the solution. Keep Engineer updated on work progress.
  • To assist Engineer in Welding quality issues and improvement.
  • Ensure assigned daily work schedule and production target is achieved.
  • To comply with all applicable quality, health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Undertake any others duties as and when assigned by superior
Requirements
  • Experience in Welding => plastic / stainless steel.
  • Certificate in Welding.
  • Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the welders’ trade.
  • Considerable knowledge of the properties of ferrous and nonferrous metals encountered in welding work.
  • Pipeline construction.
  • Repair work at gas, water and municipal heat distribution pipelines.
  • Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to read and work from simple sketches, diagrams, and broken parts.
  • Skill in the use and care of the tools and equipment common to the welding process.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills to effectively interact with people at all level and to work cross-functionally.
  • A team player who is discipline, independent, self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Prai.
