Introduction to Industrial IoT Design Principles & Applications


This program provides an overview on the IoT ecosystem and enabling environment to foster Internet of Things deployments, including technology, standards, cross-sectorial policy and regulatory frameworks, and applications. Participants can develop a comprehensive understanding of how IoT can be deployed in various sectoral verticals with specific focus on applications (eg health, agriculture, transport). Participants will also be given practical examples of how IoT can be deployed in other verticals through this program.

Participants need to have exposure to the manufacturing flow as well as experience in dealing with technical issues, projects, and requests.


Dr M Imran Sarwar has over 13 years of professional experience in scientific computing and software engineering on diverse solutions, ranging from financial applications to wireless infrastructure network as well as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud. He was involved in building large-scale reliable solutions while working in i2c Inc, USA, Syntronic, Sweden, Agilent (Keysight) Technologies, and Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as high performance cloud-based application solutions in Newict (M) Sdn Bhd. Mr Imran is also a research scientist and professional trainer. He completed his PhD in Wireless Infrastructure Network at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2017, which was fully funded under the USM Fellowship scheme. His areas of interest and core focus are in Industry 4.0, Cloud, Big Data Analytics, and IoT Smart Cities.
