The PSDC has consistently emphasized on the importance of quality education and as part of its continuous improvement initiatives, the PSDC is introducing its new Education Pathway this year, themed ‘School2Work’, which will focus on equipping fresh graduates with the necessary skills required for employment.

Under this Pathway, SPM school leavers will undergo the PSDC Diploma in Engineering Program for 6 semesters before pursuing their degree studies. Upon completion of their degree program, these graduates will then be absorbed into one of PSDC’s member companies to undertake a series of Skills Enhancement Programs that will enable them to keep up with the latest technology and needs of the industry. Graduates will also have the opportunity to secure permanent employment with the member companies upon completion of skills enhancement program.

As an added incentive, the PSDC will be awarding up RM 300,000 worth of book prizes to high achievers from its Diploma in Engineering Program. The book prizes will be awarded upon graduation and can be utilized for further studies at any of the PSDC-Affiliate Universities.

The School2Work Pathway is also applicable for students who are interested to pursue Certificate programs at the PSDC. Similar to the Degree graduates, graduates from the Certificate programs will undergo the Skills Enhancement Program and be absorbed as permanent employees of the respective member companies after completing the Program. While there are no book prizes offered under the Certificate Program, Certificate students have the option of applying for PTPTN loan to pursue their studies.

All in all, the School2Work concept not only provides a firm education foundation for PSDC students but is also a successful pathway to help secure job placements for students upon their graduation.
